Going the extra Huxlow mile for Sport Relief

The whole Huxlow community including students, staff, parents and governors have been getting active and fundraising for Sport Relief. Sixth Form students were selling wristbands around school in the lead up to the event. The “Huxlow mile” took place on the tennis courts during Thursday lunchtime, where students and staff were challenged to complete 16 laps any way they chose. Thank you to all who roller-skated, ran, walked, three-legged, cycled and piggy-backed the mile!

On Friday 18th March 2016, we held a mufti day where all students were asked to make a donation to Sport Relief. Governor Andrew Dickerson took part in some lively PE lessons on the same day. 7JS held a “Bake-Off” in their form, and sold the cakes and desserts at break and lunch time in the canteen, with all proceeds also going to Sport Relief. Students were also encouraged to set up their own individual fundraising activities.

Overall, Huxlow Science College raised a total of £763 for Sport Relief! Well done everyone, and thank you all for your continued support in helping us encourage our students to become active citizens.
