Northamptonshire County Schools Challenge 2017: great ideas, brilliant presentations

A huge congratulations to the Northamptonshire County Schools Challenge (NCSC) team from Huxlow Science College who finished second in this year’s competition. This is an annual competition in which Year 8 students across the county are asked to develop an enterprising idea which will help other young people who are struggling with a specific social issue. This year’s theme was Drugs and Psychoactive Substances.

“Well done team, you were amazing, and so close to winning. Great support from staff too. A great night to see young people at their very best. Some great ideas brilliantly presented. Well done to all schools who took part” said one Huxlow parent who attended the Grand Final at the Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering on Monday 10 July 2017. The Huxlow team narrowly lost out on the title to Kingswood Academy.

“Well done to all eight teams this evening, you all performed superbly and should be proud of yourselves – you are a credit to your schools” said a representative for the NCSC after the final.
