At Huxlow Science College we have a clear view of what we wish to achieve through our work with students, their families and our local community.
This is described in our vision, our goal and our values.
In order to achieve this, Huxlow Science College recognises the central and crucial importance of equality. We are committed to taking positive steps to identify and tackle any discrimination, and to ensuring equality of opportunity, participation and achievement for all students, staff and those receiving services from the College. This section of our web-site is one method of communicating aspects of our work in this area to our students and their families, our staff, visitors to our college, people who receive services from us, and our local community.
This section contains the relevant policies and documents which the College is required to have, to fulfil statutory obligations regarding equal opportunities in College. However, more than that, we recognise and welcome the importance of involving all of our stakeholders in the process of promoting equality and tackling discrimination. We would be very pleased to receive your views, comments or contributions to our work in this area. If you wish to contact us you can either:
Public Equality Duty
To meet obligations under the Public Equality Duty the College is required to publish equalities information annually to demonstrate compliance. Gathering this information across the protected groups enables us to monitor progress and identify gaps. Using this information, objectives are agreed and an Action Plan is drawn up.
There is no longer a requirement to publish an equality scheme or an annual report.
